Summary Hearings

For some offences you Commanding Officer can deal with the disciplinary process. 

Commanding Officers has statutory powers of punishment under Armed Forces Act 2006 and they can pass punishments up to 28 days detention without obtaining prior authority. 

All service personal have an absolute right to elect a court martial, no matter the the severity of the allegation. 

Whist you can not have representation during the summary hearing, you can obtain legal advice before.
